Positive Behavior Support

Positive Behavior Support

Positive Behavior Support (PBS) is a process for creating safer and more effective schools by structuring the learning environment to support the academic and social success of all students. The process supports the adoption and long-term implementation of efficient and effective discipline throughout the school environment. PBS methods are research-based, proven to significantly reduce the occurrence of problem behaviors in schools, and supported by a three-tiered model.

PBS at Marthasville Elementary

The purpose of PBS at Marthasville Elementary is to establish school-wide expectations that encompass respect, ownership, commitment and kindness. This creates a safe environment which promotes academic and behavioral excellence.

Students can earn tickets for positive displays of school-wide behavior expectations. Tickets will be drawn each Friday for small prizes. Students can also earn classroom compliments for how well their class performs on expectations. When a class reaches 15 compliments in one month, all students in the class will receive a reward. Our motto - "Don't hide your good side. Marthasville ROCKS!"
